Located just southeast of the McDowell Mountains and Scottsdale, and just south of the McDowell Mountain Regional Park, is the beautiful community of Fountain Hills. There are several distinct neighborhoods within Fountain Hills. For example, the master-planned community of Sun Ridge Canyon has single-family homes ranging from 1,400 square feet to custom homes upwards of 6,000 square feet in size. Within Sun Ridge Canyon in the neighborhood of North Heights which features luxury custom and semi-custom homes within this golfing community. To the south is Firerock, a guard-gated community featuring 379 custom homes on half-acre to 2-acre lots. Other distinct neighborhoods within Fountain Hills include Eagles Nest, Hidden Hills, Sabino Estates, and Fountain View Village. Things To Do: For fitness enthusiasts and nature lovers, McDowell Mountain Regional Park is located just four miles north of Fountain Hills and has over 50 miles of hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding trails within its 21,099 acres. Tonto National Park and Saguaro Lake are also located nearby and both offer opportunities for swimming, boating, hiking, and horseback riding.
Golf options within Fountain Hills include the FireRock Country Club with an 18-hole Gary Panks’ designed course, which winds through its desert landscape, as well as Eagle Mountain Golf Club, with its Scott Miller designed, par-71, 6800-yard course. SunRidge Canyon features a 6,823-yard, multiple award-winning par 71 course designed by Keith Foster.

Fountain Hills is home to its eponymous fountain, which is located in the 64-acre Fountain Park (one of four major parks). The Fountain is higher than the Washington Monument, its full height of 560 feet. The world-famous Fountain runs every hour on the hour for 15 minutes from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. every day of the week, and is propelled by two pumps to its estimated current daily height of 330 feet.
Shopping areas within Fountain Hills, include Avenue of the Fountains in downtown Fountain Hills, The Crossings, Eagle Mountain Village Mountain Place and Fountain Hills Plaza, among others. Fountain Hills is known as an artists’ community, and features a collection of over 150 pieces of public art which adorn the public places in the community, including downtown streets, plazas and parks. More shopping options are located just west of Fountain Hills, in Scottsdale.
Schools: The schools assigned to serve Fountain Hills are McDowell Mountain Elementary School (K-2nd), Four Peaks Elementary School (3rd-5th), Fountain Hills Middle School (6th-8th) and Fountain Hills High School (9th-12th). Fountain Hills has a mixture of residents including empty nesters, retirees as well as young families.
